Fashion and Art co-exist with the captivating creativity of Lauren  Luna Ltd. Teacher, Artist, and Designer are just a few titles that describe the very talented Lauren Luna. I was introduced to Lauren by a mutual friend and when I checked out Lauren’s Work I was immediately drawn to it! Graffiti, Paintings, Sculptures and not to mention her fabulous Shoes!  Who can resist beauty especially when conveyed in a versatile and innovative expression?!
Not only was I  blown away by Lauren’s skills but I was overly humbled by her philanthropic efforts! For the past 9 years Lauren has been a Special Education Teacher to emotionally disturbed youth.  Lauren uses her talent as a behavior incentive to her students and every 9 weeks a winner is chosen  based on the maintenance of their positive actions and receives a pair of Lauren’s custom-made shoes.  Outside of the classroom, last year Lauren produced a Fashion Show called Se7en Deadly Sins to raise funds for inner- city scouting with Boy Scouts.  Lauren also created her first Custom Ladies Calendar  and donated $1 from each calendar sold to Barefoot Kids Foundation. Due to the success of the calendar , this will be now be an annual  project. Talk about changing lives one mission at a time!
Hip Hop Politics

Lauren’s Passion, Drive and Generous Heart will all contribute to her future successes without a doubt!  Talent definitely speaks for itself and you can see that all through Lauren’s work!  When asked how Lauren would like to be remembered as an artist/designer, she replied “ As an Artist, I’d like to be remembered as someone in the trenches trying to make a difference in people’s lives and I brought it to light so that other’s could see the wrong doing of society and would be willing to do something about it. As a Designer, I would like to be remembered as someone who always gave back. Everyone of my projects has had a beneficiary other than myself. The world won’t change alone. Changes must be made and they start with me.”  With that being said, I encourage you all to get to know Lauren and be inspired to do something as powerful and remarkable as she is, I know I am!
Lauren is currently working on completing on completing her Master’s in Fine Arts and always creating new pieces  for her collection. Lauren is currently represented by Terra Gallery in Columbus, OH. In the next five years, Lauren would like LaurenLunaLtd. to be mass distributed in major high-end stores throughout the world, for her paintings to be in major galleries and museums, and  to continue to pursue her passion making a nice living while changing the lives of other’s through her work!

LADI CHIC'S Item of the Week- Whoa Me Fabulous!

So if you keep up with my Tweets then I'm sure you saw yesterday's post about me finding a bracelet that I absolutely love and it being $15,000....well feast your eyes on this week's indulgence!

Vicente Gracia Enchanged Forest Bracelet

If you don't know by now, I am a true Fashion Junkie, especially when it comes to accessories! So much so, let's just say my collection need's their own closet! To say I "LOVE" Jewelry is truly an understatement. The most unique, exotic and ethnically inspired always seem to catch my eye and Vicente Gracia definitely captured my attention with this bracelet!

I mean when I saw the bracelet I was in Native American Heaven to say the least, it truly brought out my Cherokee and Iroquois roots! The detailing of the and original craftmanship of the chainmail in silver with the 24/18k gold leaves, not to mention the precious enamel tree frogs, ammonite and diamond settings... this piece would definitely be one of my avant garde treasures. Now if we could just get past the price. I mean had it been all diamond with pave' maybe I could understand it, but at first glance it definitely looks more costume than luxury. However, once you get down to the nature and tradition of the this designer's background, I can't deny that LUXURY definitely comes into play, and despite the price I do consider this piece an individualistic art expression that definitely caught my attention!

Now I guess I either need to call upon one of my jewlery friends to make a cheaper version or get into the fashion lab and start creating myself! Until then a girl can admire from a distance! :-)

As the saying goes, diamonds are a girl's best friend, so why not indulge in the exotic beauty and detailing of a "Diamond In The Rough"; after all we too have imperfections that make us unique and beautiful!

Re-discover the beauty of natural, uncut, unpolished diamonds...

Diamond In The Rough was launched in 2003 by founder Daniel Eskapa. The company was started as a unique fashion statement to showcase the beauty of "rough diamonds" for individual clients. However, these extraordinary creations quickly attracted the the likes of celebrities, socialites and the fashion elite creating a high demand for the precious pieces. Now Diamond In The Rough is the leading pioneer jewelry company for selling natural, uncut and unpolished diamonds.

Eventhough, were are taught when buying a diamond they are characterized by the "4 C's" Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat weight; no one can deny a diamond is a "Diamond In The Rough" until diamond cutter comes along to identify it's criteria for diamond grading.

Still exceptional and radiant, this precious stone is by far 1 of the world's most treasured! So take a peek at Diamond In The Rough, as I'm sure you'll find a piece that will definitely compliment your unique and natural beauty!

Andrew Christian Shock Jock Briefs

The Invention of the Padded and Push-Up Bra, give women the added appeal of looking well endowed up top! Now men can have the same wow factor down below!
Designer, Andrew Christian from Bravo’s The Fashion Show, released his Shock Jock Briefs, taking “Manties” to a whole new level! These Cutting Edge Skivvies, feature a soft hidden cup, sculpted into a penis shape giving about 2 inches to a man’s valued asset.
From a design perspective I have to appreciate the innovative thought process as men’s fashion can be very simple and not as evolving as women’s. However, from a reality standpoint, deception has never been a good look! I don’t know how well these will sell, but they are definitely a hot topic in the men’s world of fashion right now.
I do hope men’s fashion will continue to sprout with creativity, but don’t go reinventing the wheel with false hopes!
