Painted Faces Model Management

Hard worker, Designer, Artist, and Entrepreneur are just a few titles that you can use to describe Inez Bonilla, but by far, Boss Lady is her fav! I’m sure you are wondering who is Inez Bonilla? Well as of  June 2010, Inez is proud Founder and CEO of Painted Faces Model Management.
Inez Bonilla by Jose Parla

After interning and working in the fashion industry for a number of years, Inez worked as model agent with a few well-known companies. Noticing that there didn’t seem to be a wide-range of diversity, Inez  decided she wanted to start her own Model Management Company, thus forming Painted Faces.
When asked how she came up with the name, Inez replies, “brainstorming all the things that make a model, it hit me: they spend most of their time in the chair getting their faces painted and I just ran with it.”
Scouting Models of all Ethnicities for the High Fashion Market, Inez is looking to fill a void that has been missing in the industry. “I feel like models look like clones of one another. There is not much diversity and that is sad.”  I agree there is definitely room for change and diversity, so I’m looking forward to seeing Painted Faces ranking next to some of the top names in the industry, while giving us a more diverse range of beauty!
Painted Faces is currently representing 3 models, and working on a few others.  All the Models did a great job working 11 shows for S/S 2011 Fashion Week, such a great accomplishment for Inez and her business. Currently working on few editorials and other press in the upcoming weeks, Inez is working hard to make Painted Faces a household name in the industry!

DIAJA

At the beginning of August, I had the pleasure of meeting Ceres Diasia Henry, Owner and Designer of Diaja, at Sociallite Accessories in Harlem. Ceres did a Fashion Show and Presentation of her collection at the Harlem Fashion Boutique, and I was so drawn to her accessories, I had to reach out for a LADI CHIC feature.
DIAJA is a line of accessories and apparel for the modern woman who wants custom and original pieces. Derived from Ceres' middle name, Diaja is definitely an upcoming brand of the future. Inspired by classic silhouettes, with a trendy and versatile appeal, Ceres’ designs are creative and innovative. Drawn to very feminine and romantic pieces Ceres’ accessories can range from chunky/edgy to classy/chic. Ceres believes her fusion of originality and the ability to cater to the inner designer of her consumer is going to make her presence well-known in the Fashion Community. Being able to create a look from a request and giving that extra pizzazz is definitely a niche to be fulfilled within the market, and I am confident Ceres can do it!
Currently selling her product from her website and in Sociallite Accessories, Ceres is looking forward to selling in a few more boutiques to make her a collection and household name in Fashion. Once established Ceres would love to sell in major retailers and believes there are no boundaries to what the future has in store for Diaja.
In the next few years, Ceres will be working hard to make Diaja something every female will want to wear, offering great service and custom quality. I urge all Accessory Addicts and Fashionistas to keep an eye out for this young designer on the rise. You can checkout product from Diaja at www.diaja.com you can join Ceres’ Group on Facebook “I Heart Diaja and also friend her on Facebook as well.

Miss Erika Hardison-Fabulize Magazine

A couple of months ago, I attended a Beauty Event at Beauty Bar that opened up in Harlem and I was connected with 2 really cool makeup artists that I continue to keep in touch with. One of them, Miss Erika Hardison, is on her way to building her own Brand!
Makeup Artist, Writer, Beauty Contributor, Skincare Expert,  and Publicist are just a few titles under this Beauty Mavens belt! Now proud owner of her own Beauty Magazine, FABULIZE, Erika is pursuing her lifelong dream to educate women on beauty.
Erika has been doing makeup since her teenage years, the perfect time to construct her craft by learning to conceal teenage acne, by studying skincare and using natural ingredients to treat her skin.  After High School, Erika enrolled in Columbia College to get certified in makeup artistry and been doing makeup ever since. Erika has worked with noted photographers and designers, such as;  New York Couture, Walish Gooshe, Miss Bruno, Steve Prue, Sidney Etiene and Steve Azzura.  Some of Erika’s favorite products include, Makeup For Ever and Nars, “I love makeup  that is multifunctional, that is high quality and very blendable”.
Erika loves creativity, expressing herself through her unique beauty art form and the independence that being a Makeup Artist offers. Through these specific characteristics, and wanting to educate women of color, FABULIZE was formed. Erika wants FABULIZE to be a platform where women can learn to “Fabulize” themselves by understanding skin tone, type and product education, by enhancing what you were born with! With that being said, Erika is working hard to make, FABULIZE, the “Brown Girls Version of Allure”, talk about finding a niche and running with it! I’m looking forward to reading the articles of FABULIZE, and I encourage all lovers of Beauty to as well!
Not only is Erika working on FABULIZE, but also working on future cosmetics line and various projects that include maintaining her position as being a beauty contributor to D.A.M. Magazine. So Get Chic and Fabulize with Erika at FABULIZE Magazine!
You can sign up to FABULIZE at www.FabulizeMagazine.wordpress.com Like on Facebook Fabulize Mag Follow on Twitter @FabulizeMag and personally stay connected with Erika on Twitter @MzYummyDread.

Emma Hill Creative Director of Mulberry is fabulous, sweet and very protective of her designs! Showing 2 back to back presentations at the SOHO House rooftop, every detail of the show was amazing.
Life-sized red roses scattered the backdrop and the pool, while trompe l’oeil line drawings decorated the room! All the models had red hair, and get this, a French bulldog made his debut on the runway with 2 of the models! Mulberry “It Girl” Alexa Chung was part of the audience and they gave away a signature Mulberry Tote gift bag during the after party!

The collection was very feminine, a nice combination of frills, rosettes and ruffles. Colors palette were pastels with a touch of faded denim. The Shoes and Hanbags were fabulous as well, all pieces were coordinated to fit each outfit to a "T".
