and debuted on the Fashion elite social scenein February 2011 and since then has been consistent in providing a platform foremerging designers to showcase their work twice a year for New York CityFashion Week.

The 2012 New York City event will be hosted at the historicBroad Street Ballroom (41 Broad Street, NYC) on February 14th, 2012 with doorspromptly opening at 6:00pm for Reception and 7:00pm for Awards program andFashion Show. The evening is by invite only and provides up-and-comingdesigners the opportunity to propel themselves into the spotlight with guestsranging from retail buyers, fashion influencers, top fashion editors,tastemakers, socialites and more.

Talley has championed anumber of young African-American designers over the course of his longcareer. He is known for his elaborateoutfits and amazing personality. Andre has been paired with famous designerslike Rachel Roy, Kimora Lee Simmons and Tracy Reese, to name a few.

Emerge! A Fashion Runway Show will announce the featureddesigner line up this month so stay tuned! When you think of bridal gowns, the firstthing that comes to mind is a beautiful white gown.

I know for me the perfect bridal gownwould either be strapless jeweled flowing ball gown with a long train orstrapless empire gown with my birthstone (peridot) encircling the waist.

Now in today’s modern society, bridalaesthetics are constantly changing… whether it’s a skirt suit or pant suit maybe a muted color, the traditional gownno longer has to be, depending on preference.

More recently, this Sunday for Fall 2012 NewYork Bridal Fashion Week, Stellar Couture Bridal Designer Vera Wang, reallymade an impact with her Black Bridal Dress Collection entitled “Witchcraft”

Very dramatic to say the least, the question that arises:“Is Black the NewWhite”?

The “Witchcraft” collection of gowns are absolutely gorgeous, no denyingthat, however in my eyes they are more evening, than bridal. I can definitelysee them on the Red Carpet, but as far as the ideal wedding gown I’m sure theymay meet the criteria for some daring fashionista, just not me.

I kicked off Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, working Richard Chai Love, this was his first co-ed show and it was very dramatic in detail, from make-up to the printed pieces that encompassed the collection it was about layering with Love ( crisp palette of mint, tangerine, florals and striped prints)!

Friday, September 9th - Pier 59

The United Bamboo S/S 2012 Collection was a classic and chic compilation for the feminine lady, who likes clean cuts paired with silk, cotton and leather and frilly details!

Lot's of basic colours and neutrals filled this carefully constructed collection!

Friday, September 9th - Milk Studios

Milk Studios is definitely helping emerging designers gain recognition in the Fashion Community!

Suno's Designers Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty's African Inspired Collection made it's debut with a bang!

The Aesthetic was a nice collection of water colours and florals with textures of bright metallic sheaths and chiffon, to vinyl fabrics.

Saturday, September 10th - Lincoln Center

Lacoste has come a long way from the urban preppy look we are used too!

The S/S 2012 collection was sleek and oh so chic!

Revealing Jersey Dresses, wide leg trousers and with sheer fabrics and feminine line for the females; While parkas, structured blazer styled peacoats were paired with canvas sneakers for the men!

I will definitely be purchashing a few Lacoste pieces come next spring!

I worked Honor's very 1st showing at NYFW and I must say from day 1 the clothing was absolutely gorgeous!

Here at LADI CHIC we Ultimately Love Philanthropic Efforts to Re-build the Community, especially when it comes to creating a future for the youth! A few weeks ago, I was introduced to Writer's Block from another great blogger.

I was immediately intrigued by the message behind the brand,

"It's about Literacy and Not Fashion."

Created by Terrell Pierre Johnson, Writer's Block by definition is a condition, and Terrell is working adamantly to to transform that condition into a movement, to assist those who suffer from another condition, Homelessness.

It's detrimental for the youth to not only be literate, but to also have an outlet for expressing themselves. I'm sure so many probably have emotional and stability issues because of their situation. I had thewonderful opportunity to work a very talented Hairstylist, “Spikey Love” 2weeks ago! Spikey owner and founder of,Manipulated Styles (Your Destination to “GET SPIKED”!)

has always had an appreciation of the arts.From Interior Design to Fashion/Wardrobe Styling, Spikey has dabbled in variouscreative fields, but her passion for Cosmetology is yet another freedom ofexpression where Spikey can indulge her visionary skills. Having been a driving force in the salon,weddings, photo, movie and video shoots; Spikey has continuously worked on Per-Fectingher craft!

Mostcomfortable behind the comb and brush, Spikey’s secondary skill as a MakeupArtist, is still one she’s honing. Proficient with creating beauty looks,Spikey is in the process of mastering more dramatic/theatrical looks. Which I’m sure will become as effortless asdoing hair very soon!

RAMY "Eyebrow Intervention"

Friday I attended the RAMY "Eyebrow Intervention Event" at the Duane Reade in Union Square; it was a truly pleasurable experience! I had the wonderful opportunity to Interview founder of RAMY Cosmetics, Ramy Gafni who was extremely humble and personable.

In my interview, I had a chance to learn more about Ramy, as well as his cosmetics line, that can be purchased at Duane Reade and on the RAMY website www.ramy.com . However, the most important topic of the day...Why is Eyebrow Intervention so important?!

According to Ramy a woman can enhance her appearnace by simply getting her eyebrow's sculpted; this simple, yet intricate cosmetic procedure makes the face look cleaner and brings out the eyes.
Ramy, believes the most natural and sure way to PER-FECT the eyebrow is by tweezing. Ramy's "Beauty Therapy" staff is professionally trained by him, and his only method of eyebrow sculpting is tweezing the brow. Ramy does not believe in waxing or threading.

I asked why does he only offer the one option and not the other two, he explained, "waxing can be very harmful to the skin and should never be done on sensitive areas of the face such as the eyebrow; from lip down is fine but never the eyebrow."

As for threading, he says "this form is better than waxing, but not everyone that threads should be performing this traditional art form; the only way to eliminate mishaps without "time contraint" is the tweezing method. The other forms may take out too much hair in which you have to wait for the hair to grow back in order to fix the damage."

I'm definitely not a fan of waxing, but I do LOVE threading! However, I had a chance to see Ramy in action as one of the customer's who recieved the "Eyebrow Intervetion" looked great after her consult.
